Mechanism of hysteresis in shock wave reflection

چکیده
This paper reports on the mechanism of hysteresis in transition between regular and Mach shock wave reflections. We disclose that, for a given inflow number, stable reflection configuration should maintain minimal dissipation. As wedge angle varies, set dissipation points forms valley lines landscape, these compose loop. The saddle-nodes, intersections ridge line, are actually points. Additionally, predicted configurations agree well with experimental numerical results, validating this theory.

Periodic Wave Shock solutions of Burgers equations
In this paper we investigate the exact peroidic wave shock solutions of the Burgers equations. Our purpose is to describe the asymptotic behavior of the solution in the cauchy problem for viscid equation with small parametr ε and to discuss in particular the case of periodic wave shock. We show that the solution of this problem approaches the shock type solution for the cauchy problem of the in...
متن کاملA Mechanism for Dislocation Generation in Shock-wave Deformation
Numerous articles describing the changes in structure and mechanical response of metals and alloys induced by shock waves have been published in the past twenty years (I-3). Increases in the concentration of point (4) and line defects (5), formation of twins (6), martensite (7) and precipitates (8) have been observed in the residual structures. Smith (9) proposed the f i rs t model accounting f...
متن کاملNovel mechanism of gene transfection by low-energy shock wave
Extracorporeal shock wave (SW) therapy has been studied in the transfection of naked nucleic acids into various cell lines through the process of sonoporation, a process that affects the permeation of cell membranes, which can be an effect of cavitation. In this study, siRNAs were efficiently transfected into primary cultured cells and mouse tumor tissue via SW treatment. Furthermore SW-induced...
متن کاملWeak-shock Reflection Factors
Ernst Mach (1838-1916) was the first to discover an irregular reflection phenomenon of shock waves, as is well known in our community. In fact, this occurred in 1875-three years earlier than usually assumed in the literature [1]. However, it is correct that Mach gave the physical interpretation of this phenomenon in 1878 [2]. Since Mach's discovery of an irregular shock reflection pattern some ...
متن کاملOblique Shock Waves and Shock Reflection ∗ †
Oblique and conical shock waves are generated as solid projectile flies supersonically, or as a planar shock wave is reflected along a ramp. We study the stability of oblique shock waves for full Euler system of equations in gas-dynamics. The stability criterion is applied to the discussion of regular shock reflection phenomena and the transition of a regular shock reflection to Mach reflection.
